Marvin y Quetzal::the roller coaster riders

Sergio Alcala::the show man

Excellent: the invitation, how full was the gate, the really important sponsors he had such as Swarovsky and Dior, bags, make up by Silver Felix, hair and his new website is great althoug it doesnt match with his new collection.

Ok: the music and video.

Things to improve: We saw a lot of basics just with the twist of having an inside full of colors, the majority of the fabrics used were meant for furniture rather than for clothing. The trousers didn’t fit well on the female models, some shoes didn’t match with the outfits and the catwalk’s overall pace was too slow; besides, they overexposed their sponsors. If you are making clothes that are supposed to be elegant don’t use models who have tattoos. And DONT put diamonds on cheap paper.

TE AMO::the naturals

This label is made of love. The inspiration for this collection are dreams, animals and the forest. Messy hair, almost no make up, loose silhouettes, not too girly clothes, not too much winter fabrics, clean colors…yes they are full of nature and no pretentions. Just listening to the electro beats mixed with some heartbroken singing, makes you feel surrounded by a special atmosphere. Rafa sings, Roberto draws, both artists, both expressive and concious of their city, musical surroundings and their girlfriends’ attitudes.

MANCANDY::the promise

Andres Jimenez, designer from Mancandy didnt crawl, he born last season and suddenly start running. He has made a lot more things than old designers have done in his whole carreer. What makes Andy be the mexican fashion promise? first he has a extended education, he knows singing, photography, and many other disciplines that makes him be sensitive and he has a sense of esthetic and harmony.

Also he knows how to work, he is always on time with a great attitude and very respectful to his workers and that is always a plus. This collection was so much proffessional than his first, he continue using see trough fabrics but made everything with a lot more complexity, more cuts, more experimentation, and a great sense of color. It was fun, dynamic, fresh and is directed to a young client who loves looking good, not too shocking but yes impressive. It is one of the few designers who works as well with women and men clothes. You dont need to have a complete Mancandy outfit, each piece stands by itself.

Andres has a long way to go, many things to improve and many things to show to the world.
Andres has a nomination as best new designer at the Mexico Fashion Awards by Lycra.

TONI FRANCESC::the expert

I remeber one time Toni said to me: “The best way to do fashion is making it rather than just thinking it” .After doing men wear , presenting collections 34 times at Madrid and selling at Bread and Butter, now he presented his collection Feelings.

We saw perfect manufactures, great silhouettes, a little bit of experiments and we got the idea of the feelings in the colors he chose, the way models walk, run, cry and shout; nothing was cliche but yes it was an experience, the magic moment end up with people standing up and clapping, others were almost crying and everyone recognized it as the runway of the week. Fashion is a non spoken lenguaje that Toni knows how to communicate. The expert is concious of his client, expert in fabrics, expert in selling and giving women pretty clothes that wont opacate his personal beauty.

Cynthia his runway coordinator has a nomination in the Mexico Fashion Awards by Lycra.

TEMORES:::the visionary

Temores studied fashion design at Casa de Francia but he didnt end this carreer. Sheily, Lisa and himself became best friends and fashion trendsetters at parties, thats how they started to get to know everyone. Temores is a visionare and really concius he is special, so he planed his success, he wanted to get all the support from the media thats why he began working in magazines and more, also he lived in UK and learn a lot from there.

He did some expositions with his clothes and realize how easy was to sell his pieces so after rejecting 4 times fashion week, now it was the perfect time to do it.

With a team of 12 people, including seamstress (3) , acrylic experts, and friends who helped him out, the major inspiration for this collection Mickey Mouse came alive. Temores has always being influenced by childish stuff but he didnt want to make it obvious.

Temores is always an eye catching on parties, he has a great sense of fashion and a real natural attitude. I felt this and want it to know more about him, i knew this was going to be reflected on his clothes and i was right…following his creative process and getting to know him more the conclution i got was that Temores is where he is because he deserves it, he is really professional , mature, creative, and he knows the fashion industry and how to handle it, not being handle.
